• Bernie's Fuel Oil has developed an alternative way of securing your energy needs in response to the extreme volatility in today's market:

  Starting July 1st of 2008 -

  This program empowers The Energy Group members to purchase fuel at what is known as the “rack price” – this is what the fuel dealer’s pay when the products are purchased from suppliers such as Shell, Exxon Mobile, Hess, BP and others. For example, if you recently purchased a 200 gallon delivery you would have saved over $100 based on the average price of New London County on that delivery alone.

  There is not a plan from any oil company, CO-OP or any other known entity that we are aware of that comes close to what you get as an Energy Group member. Never again guess if you are getting the right price; you will be securing it for yourself. So take the first step to energy independence by joining the Energy Group Alternative Program. Your deliveries and other administrative costs are covered by your membership fee and it will save you money.

  This year it is more important than ever to plan for your energy needs so why not take control and join the Energy Group Alternative Program (Egap) and have a voice when it comes to energy.

1. Select membership level by desired deliveries and amount of involvement desired.
2. Membership is paid in full upon application. Since all costs are based on the best discounts available and that being cash or check any member or applicant wishing to make a transaction by credit card must absorb the processing fee themselves. That fee is 2% of the transaction amount and only visa and mastercard are accepted at this time.
3. Decide the greatest dollar value of fuel you wish the energy group to purchase on your behalf per delivery.
4. Have that money on your membership 30 days prior to when you wish to start making purchases.
5. This time period is for initial purchase. However, if you need sooner the time frame can be shortened. You just need to let us know.
6. This is your purchasing money and we will track this separately as energy stock.
7. These funds must be replenished after each purchase to be able to purchase again.
8. You may select will call or automatic delivery. There is an additional one time yearly charge of $10 for auto delivery.
9. The terms for replenishment of purchasing funds are no longer than 5 days after delivery. This must be to allow time for checks to clear before another delivery is needed when cold and to keep administration costs low. This is done for the benefit of all members and is not changeable for any individual member.
10. Failure to meet terms will void membership and forfeit membership fee. Any refund of purchasing funds will be after all money owed to the group has been collected. This includes the cost of collection & reasonable attorney fees. Once the group has determined that all costs are satisfied, any other refund of any remaining purchasing funds balance will be made within 30 days.
11. If a member is concerned about remembering to replenish on time it is suggested that they leave a payment out to be picked up with delivery or mail at the time of making purchasing request.
12. Members may replenish purchasing funds with visa or mastercard but must pay a 2% processing fee. Replenishment can also be done with cash at the office.
13. Members must maintain clear access to the fill pipe.
14. Members must have proper venting on tanks and all associated equipment must be per applicable building codes.
15. No member may cause or take action that will harm another member or the energy group as a whole.
16. All members are required to act in a fashion to keep all costs as low as possible for the group in order to maintain membership fees at the best cost possible.
17. Membership is not transferable. Account must be in good standing in order to qualify for membership renewal
